The objective of this paper is to demonstrate the operation principle of a cooling tower and its automation in the temperature control of the service water, and the principle will be demonstrated through a prototype very close to a cooling tower. The operation is based on the heat exchange, due to the contact of the water with the filler plates, due to the thermal coefficient of the material, as well as the crossed air flow inside the same. It is expected to reproduce the operations and demonstrate the theories and calculations made for the construction of the prototype, where we can notice that the principles applied are effective, noting the ease of performing tasks using automated systems, which with little operator intervention (manual systems), allows us to perform tasks that would require the effort of several people to carry out the same operation.
