This article seeks to reflect the importance of playing for the development and learning of children in early childhood education. Through a historical landmark, the conception of the child begins and emphasizes the act of playing as significant for childhood, facilitating the construction of reflection, autonomy, feelings, and creativity, thus establishing a perspective of child logic and helping to understand and interacting with reality. Therefore, to carry out this work, it was based on the reflection of reading books, articles, as well as surprise bibliographic research regarding the main theme of the subject. Therefore, this research will provide a more conscious reading about the importance of playing in children's lives.
