Since the end of the twenty century in Brazil, there has been an exacerbated flow of referrals from children and adolescents who experience various difficulties in the school environment and are directed to mental health services. In general, studies show that this flow has a historical character, as well as such infanto-juvenile demands arise according to the creation of the pre-existing technical knowledge, being intensified in the last decades, as a result of increasingly frequent medical procedures. From an analysis based on the assumptions of Historical and Dialectic Materialism and Cultural Historical Psychology regarding human formation through the educational process, the research tries to verify what kind of contemporary practices of health psychology are aimed at attending school demands, seeking to see to what extent they consider and understand school function. In order to do so, were analyzed records of psychological visits made to the school demand, as well as interviews with the psychologists who took care of the appointments with this public.
