Rethinking the role of the educator, analyzing the concept of affectivity in education through theories related to the subject. We seek to correlate the role of emotions in rational human development; and establish the relationship between the stages of cognitive and affective development. It was concluded that affectivity has always been part of everyone's life, and from a certain time onwards, the influence of affect on learning began to be studied in early childhood education. The educator must be aware that affection is not just a gesture of affection and care, but also the expression of feelings that go beyond physical contact, imbued with the cognitive aspect of learning. The expression of affection, whether through gestures or words, will make the child a conscious and at the same time critical citizen, so that he/she feels socially integrated, whose consequences are visible every day.
