This paper presents an experience report of an environmental education project conducted by forest engineering students with emphasis on awareness about the proper use of pesticides in rural communities in Peçanha/MG. An educational campaign was carried out which included the visit to nine rural properties, where the students discussed with the owners and their families information about the importance of agronomic recipes and the need to respect the guidelines of the technical responsible, triple washing and correct storage of packaging, among other matters. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the strategy of promoting “digital environmental education” was also adopted, through the creation of a profile on a social network and the production and publication of content related to the use of pesticides. It was possible to provide the project's students with the integration between theoretical knowledge and professional practice, in addition to contributing to the City of Peçanha/MG in the dissemination of scientific and technological knowledge associated with the use of pesticides in agricultural production, aiming at improving the quality of life and of the environment in some of its rural communities.
