This study aimed to analyze the importance of invasive blood pressure monitoring (IBP) in clinical decision-making by nursing teams. This is an integrative literature review based on studies published between 2020 and 2025, focusing on professional practice in intensive care settings. The results show that IBP provides continuous and accurate hemodynamic data that allow for rapid and effective clinical interventions, especially in critically ill patients using vasoactive drugs. Nursing performance proved to be essential both in performing the procedure and in interpreting the data obtained, contributing to patient safety and quality of care. It is concluded that adequate management of IBP by nursing requires technical training, use of institutional protocols and instruments such as checklists, which favor standardization and prevention of adverse events.
