MOTHERING, WORK, AND BREASTFEEDING: EXPERIENCE REPORT OF NA EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITY INVOLVING HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS AND PREGNANT WOMEN

Abstract

This experience report describes the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a breastfeeding training program developed by PET-Saúde Equidade - Axis 3 as a continuing education strategy for Primary Health Care professionals. The activity was conducted in May 2025 in the municipality of Araguari, Minas Gerais, Brazil, involving healthcare professionals and pregnant women. It addressed motherhood, work, and breastfeeding through lectures, interactive discussions, and the presentation of scientific evidence. The evaluation, conducted through an eletronic questionnaire, assessed participant satisfaction, content relevance, and perceived learning. The results demonstrated high levels of satisfaction, recognition of the importance of the topic, increased knowledge, and suggestions for incorporating more practical activities. It is concluded that the training strengthened continuing health education within the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS) and contributed to improving maternal and child healthcare and promoting health equity.
