APPLICATION OF REVERSE LOGISTICS IN THE CKD (COMPLETELY KNOCKED DOWN) PACKAGING PROCESS THROUGH THE REUSE OF METAL STRUCTURES

This study analyzed the application of reverse logistics in the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) packaging process, focusing on the reuse of metal structures used for the packaging and transportation of automotive parts. The research was conducted through an integrative literature review, using a qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive approach. Studies on reverse logistics, circular economy, returnable industrial packaging, reusable transport items, traceability, costs, and flow management in the automotive sector were examined. The results indicated that reuse depends on the organization of stages such as identification, inspection, classification, temporary storage, load consolidation, return transportation, repair, and release for a new loading cycle. Factors affecting implementation were also identified, including distance, return rate, cycle time, availability, damage, storage space, maintenance costs, and movement control. The comparison between disposal and reverse flows showed that reuse may reduce the acquisition of new structures and delay the recycling of metal, provided that regular returns and cycle monitoring are ensured. Indicators related to return rate, number of uses, return time, losses, repairs, cost per cycle, and avoided waste were proposed. It was concluded that reverse logistics can support the continued use of metal structures in CKD operations when integrated into operational planning and information management.
