Considering that current organizations advance in the way of thinking and acting, and analyzing the speed with which changes happen, it is necessary to understand the importance of innovation management in organizations, making it possible to achieve competitive advantage, and with that, guarantee the business durability. With globalization, the democratization of technologies facilitated the way of conducting production processes, and consequently increased competitiveness between companies, requiring a close look for companies to seek to differentiate their products/services. Given this context, it is necessary to understand which strategies the company needs to adopt to create a culture of innovation, such as, for example, the management of ideas and collaboration between different areas. The present work was carried out through a bibliographical research, and through the study theoretical references were presented that discuss some concepts of innovation and the types of existing innovation. This study seeks to show ways to develop innovation management in organizations, identifying existing challenges and how it is necessary to implement an innovative culture.
