THE COURSE "ISSUES IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION" AS A SPACE FOR CRITICAL PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: AN EXPERIENCE REPORT FROM PROEF

This experience report from the course entitled “Issues in Physical Education”, a component of the Professional Master’s Program in Physical Education within the National Network (PROEF), addresses the knowledge and experiences developed by the graduate students during the period in which the course was offered, from March to May 2026. The course presented a series of issues that highlight the urgent need for discussion and critical reflection within the context of school Physical Education. It was delivered in a hybrid format. Over nine weeks, the course synthesized these issues, which will be discussed in this report. Required readings from the course, as well as other relevant texts, will be used to support and complement the discussion. Finally, this report will present a synthesis of the main impacts of the studies conducted and point to possible pathways for promoting changes in the current landscape of school Physical Education.
