EDUCATING, INCLUDING AND QUALIFYING: CHALLENGES OF VOCATIONAL TRAINING IN YOUTH AND ADULT EDUCATION

Abstract

This article seeks to analyze the challenges of professional training in EJA, highlighting its contribution to the social, educational and qualification of students. This is a literature review, with a qualitative and descriptive approach, carried out to analyze the challenges of professional training in EJA. The search was carried out in the SciELO, BVS, Google Academic and CAPES Portal databases, using descriptors related to EJA and professional qualification, initially resulting in 321 studies. After applying two criteria of inclusion and exclusion, the selected works are analyzed and organized thematically to support discussion on the topic. Professional training integrated into this modality contributes to expanding job opportunities, strengthening citizenship and promoting the emancipation of students. Meanwhile, challenges such as school evasion, structural limitations, the need for teacher training and curricular adaptation continue to persist, making it fundamental to strengthen public policies and educational strategies that guarantee a more inclusive and aligned professional qualification with contemporary demands. EJA plays an essential role in social inclusion, in the promotion of citizenship and in the professional qualification of young people and adults, expanding educational and job placement opportunities. However, challenges such as school evasion, public policy fragility and permanence difficulties still persist.
