Abstract

The Maria da Penha Law represents an important milestone in this process, as it establishes legal instruments and public policies aimed at prevention, victim support, and the accountability of offenders. Despite the advances brought about by this legislation, there are still challenges related to the effectiveness of protective measures, especially in specific regional contexts, such as in the state of Rondônia. The present article has as its general objective to analyze the effectiveness of the Maria da Penha Law in preventing domestic violence in the state of Rondônia, with a focus on the challenges related to the implementation and enforcement of protective measures. To this end, the methodology adopted is deductive, qualitative, descriptive, and bibliographic, based on doctrinal works, case law, academic articles, and legal documents.
