Abstract

School management in full-time schools plays a fundamental role in educational organization and in strengthening pedagogical practices, contributing to the holistic development of students. This study aimed to analyze the challenges and perspectives of school management in this context, understanding the role of the manager, the main challenges faced, and the contributions of democratic management to educational quality. This is an integrative literature review, with a qualitative and descriptive approach, conducted in the SciELO, Google Scholar, and CAPES databases, considering articles published between 2020 and 2026. The results showed that school management directly influences the teaching-learning process, highlighting challenges such as insufficient financial resources, inadequate infrastructure, professional overload, and the need for continuing education. It concludes that participatory practices, strategic planning, and the strengthening of public policies are essential for the effective implementation of full-time education.
