Mental health during pregnancy is an important aspect of prenatal care and is influenced by biological, social, and emotional factors. This study analyzed, through a literature review, mental disorders during pregnancy, the use of psychotropic drugs, and their maternal and fetal effects. The methodology involved articles on depression, anxiety, social vulnerability, and obstetric outcomes. The results show that these disorders are common and associated with complications such as preterm birth and low birth weight. The use of psychotropic drugs involves risks and benefits that must be individually assessed. It is concluded that mental health should be integrated into prenatal care, with multiprofessional follow-up and greater access to specialized services.
