FROM TRAINING TO PRACTICE: IMPLEMENTATION OF ACTIVE METHODOLOGIES IN ANATOMY TEACHING BASED ON A PREVIOUS TRAINING EXPERIENCE

This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of implementing active methodologies in anatomy teaching through the adaptation of anatomical techniques previously learned in a training context. This is an experience report conducted at the Universidade do Estado de Minas Gerais (UEMG), in the municipality of Passos, involving a faculty member, technical staff, and undergraduate students. The activities included anatomical dissection of a porcine kidney, application of vascular filling techniques using self-curing acrylic resin (MMA) and latex, followed by a corrosion technique to obtain three-dimensional models. The results demonstrated that these methodologies are feasible within the institutional context, even with limited resources, enabling the production of low-cost, durable anatomical models with high morphological fidelity. Additionally, the techniques enhanced spatial understanding of anatomical structures and promoted the development of practical skills, highlighting their potential as teaching tools. It is concluded that the adaptation of these methodologies represents a promising strategy to expand practical anatomy teaching, contributing to teaching, research, and extension activities.
