Abstract

Introduction: First aid is defined as the action taken against the victim in an emergency. Normally, as the arrival of health professionals can take some time, these actions need to be carried out by those who witness the situation on the spot. Therefore, it is necessary to train the population and assume the role of emergency operator in different situations. Objective: To improve the knowledge of teachers in an urgent and emergency situation and Develop an illustrative booklet with first aid actions. Development the learning of first aid techniques is essential for teachers to help with conducts, when taking care of a sick student, administering medication, checking the temperature, checking heart rate (HR) and respiratory (RR), measuring blood pressure (BP) , among other basic and important care, even conducts through: extremity fractures, dislocation, airway obstruction, convulsive crisis, hemorrhage and bleeding, burns, wounds, epistaxis, cardiorespiratory arrest, syncope and fainting, which are the cases more frequent accidents in the school environment. Method: To carry out this booklet, the exploratory research method and qualitative data approach were adopted. The searches were carried out through online indexers: Google Academic, virtual health library, scientific electronic library online- Scielo. Discussion: The child's interaction in the school environment has to be driven by prevention, so the preparation for the most affected accidents within a school must be prepared. Conclusion: The importance of health education in first aid is associated with the need to care for victims who need immediate care and the need for quick and qualified assistance.
