Direct composite veneers represent a conservative and widely used approach in contemporary aesthetic dentistry, enabling restorations with minimal removal of tooth structure and satisfactory aesthetic outcomes. This study aimed to analyze, through an integrative literature review, the indication criteria and the determining factors for the clinical success of direct composite resin veneers. A bibliographic search was conducted in PubMed, SciELO, considering publications from 2020 to 2025. Clinical studies, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and laboratory studies related to clinical performance, restorative techniques, and composite material properties were included. The findings indicate that the clinical success of direct composite veneers is closely related to proper case selection, operator technical skill, material properties, and patient-related factors. Despite limitations such as color instability and wear resistance when compared to ceramic restorations, direct veneers demonstrate good clinical longevity and significant advantages in terms of reparability and cost-effectiveness. It can be concluded that, when properly indicated and performed under strict technical protocols, direct composite veneers present satisfactory and predictable clinical performance.
