This article analyzes the role of the PMPA in assisting women in situations of domestic violence in Pará, considering institutional programs, operational challenges, and the effectiveness of the actions developed. The topic is justified by the persistence of this phenomenon and by the need to understand the scope of state responses aimed at protecting victims. A qualitative and descriptive approach was adopted, based on documentary research supported by the analysis of academic studies, institutional documents, and informative records published between 2020 and 2026. The results show that initiatives such as the Maria da Penha Patrol, the Pró Mulher Pará Program, the expansion of reporting channels, and the integration with agencies in the protection network have contributed to the monitoring of protective measures, emergency response, and specialized support. Operational challenges were also identified, especially regarding continuity of teams, underreporting, professional training, and interinstitutional coordination. It is concluded that PMPA has made a relevant contribution to confronting domestic violence, although the improvement of public policies and coordination among services remains necessary.
