This article aims to analyze the administrative efficiency of the Institute of Social Security for Public Servants of the State of Rondônia (IPERON) with regard to the average time required to grant social security benefits, especially retirement pensions and survivor benefits. The research is based on the issue of delays in the processing of administrative procedures, a phenomenon that directly impacts the lives of beneficiaries. The methodology adopted is qualitative in nature, based on bibliographic and documentary research. The results indicate that delays in granting benefits are related to structural, organizational, and technological factors, highlighting a possible violation of the principle of administrative efficiency. It is concluded that such inefficiency may give rise to the State’s civil liability, making it necessary to adopt measures that promote greater speed and efficiency in social security management.
