This study analyzes the assessment of learning mediated by digital technologies in the context of Distance Education, highlighting its conceptual bases, its modes of operation, and the pedagogical implications that emerge from technological mediation. The bibliographic research gathers current contributions on digital education and assessment practices, demonstrating how virtual environments broaden the possibilities for interpreting the learning process and allow for the interpretation of dimensions of learning that do not appear in traditional models. Challenges related to teacher training, technological infrastructure, and the clarity of assessment criteria are identified—elements that directly influence the quality of the educational experience and student engagement. However, the potential offered by digital resources is recognized, such as the diversification of learning evidence, the strengthening of continuous feedback, and the expansion of student autonomy, which consolidate a more sensitive, participatory, and appropriate assessment model for the contemporary demands of online education. The analysis indicates that digital assessment is an essential component for improving Distance Education and contributes to more qualified, coherent educational practices aligned with the digital culture scenario.
