This article sought to explore the genetic factor as a real risk for the development of dementia, highlighting specific genes that may contribute to its pathogenesis. The study used the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) genetic database to search for genes, filtering those that were relevant to the topic. Approximately ten genes were analyzed and discussed, presenting their functions, encoded proteins, and mechanisms that directly and demonstrably influence the development of dementia.
