Abstract

This work analyzes the challenges faced by deaf people in entering, remaining in, and progressing within the Brazilian labor market. Based on a literature review and analysis of secondary data (2015–2025), it discusses the legal framework, communication barriers, company practices, and public policies relevant to labor inclusion. It presents intervention proposals focused on bilingual training, communication accessibility, business awareness, and labor market regulation. Furthermore, it emphasizes the importance of continuous professional development and the use of assistive technologies as tools for effective inclusion. The role of educational institutions in preparing deaf professionals for the demands of the contemporary market is also highlighted. The need to expand public policies that guarantee equal opportunities and appropriate working conditions for deaf workers in their field of activity is evident.
