This study aims to explore the meanings and senses that emerge among the prison population of an APAC prison during their leisure time, specifically related to the use of television. APAC, as an alternative prison model, represents a unique approach compared to conventional prisons, emphasizing the resocialization and reintegration of inmates. In this context, we sought to investigate how inmates attribute meaning to the act of watching television during their leisure time in the APAC prison. This analysis involves understanding the perceptions, interactions and social connections that emerge during these moments, as well as the potential influence of television on the prison experience and the inmates' rehabilitation trajectory. This study uses an ethnographic spectrum approach to capture the perceptions and perspectives of ten inmates, employing qualitative methods such as participant observation and semi-structured interviews. By understanding the meanings behind the use of television as a form of leisure in APAC prison, we hope to shed light on important aspects of inmates' lives in this specific context, thus contributing to a broader understanding of the dynamics of imprisonment and resocialization. The research revealed that after ten years of study, inmates continue to use television as a tool for leisure time.
