School policing emerged as an effective action of the Safe School Program in the State of Pará, aiming to prevent violent acts, whether psychological or physical, in the state's educational institutions. However, the efforts of the public authorities to eradicate risks to the school community require strategic actions involving joint efforts between the Department of Education (Seduc) and public security agencies, specifically the Military Police (PMPA). To this end, numerous other projects, including Alerta Pará Escola, are of fundamental importance. The purpose of this research was to explore issues concerning the police presence in public schools as a factor guaranteeing the safety of the school community. To achieve success in this study, we used a scientific approach based on qualitative methods, specifically the collection of theoretical data: documentary and bibliographic. It is understood that school policing, through the Safe School Program, has become an efficient strategy in combating problematic situations that are characteristically violent within the educational institution. Therefore, the presence of military police in schools represents much more than cooperation between different governmental institutions; it signifies the integration of professionals from distinct areas, education and public security, in order to achieve a single objective: school safety.
