This study aims to analyze nursing care in low-risk prenatal care, highlighting its clinical, educational, and preventive roles. It is a qualitative literature review based on the analysis of scientific articles published between 2009 and 2025 in the SciELO and Google Scholar databases. Fifteen studies that met the inclusion criteria were selected, allowing for the identification of recurring practices and challenges faced by professionals. The results show that nursing plays a central role in promoting maternal and child health through clinical assessment, ordering tests, providing educational guidance, and strengthening the professional-pregnant woman bond. Nursing consultations contribute to greater adherence to prenatal care, prevention of pregnancy complications, and improved neonatal outcomes. However, weaknesses persist, such as late initiation of consultations, low coverage, and communication failures, which compromise the comprehensiveness of care. It is concluded that qualified and humanized nursing care is essential for comprehensive prenatal care, positively impacting the health of the mother and baby and reinforcing the need for public policies that expand access to and improve the quality of care.
