This study aims to analyze, based on the literature, the role of nursing in promoting the humanization of care and preparing pregnant women for childbirth during prenatal care in Primary Health Care. This is an integrative review of a descriptive and exploratory nature, carried out in scientific databases between 2009 and 2025. The results show that the humanization of childbirth involves practices such as active listening, welcoming, respect for the beliefs and values of the pregnant woman, encouragement of autonomy, and reduction of unnecessary interventions. Obstetric nursing assumes a strategic role by offering emotional support, clear information, and pain relief techniques, strengthening the woman's confidence and promoting conscious choices regarding the delivery route. It is concluded that the nurse's performance is essential to transform childbirth into a positive, safe, and humanized experience, contributing to the reduction of maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality.
