This article aimed to identify, based on recent literature, the current challenges of telework in the federal public administration, seeking to identify its advantages, disadvantages, and the difficulties faced by managers and teleworkers, thereby establishing a relationship between these findings and the challenges to be addressed by public administration. To obtain the information, academic production published between 2020 and 2025 was consulted through the Portal de Periódicos da Capes. The final sample comprised nine articles aligned with the research proposal, considering the exclusion of studies related to the period of the COVID-19 pandemic due to possible distortions in the results. The findings indicate that the main challenges include difficulties in communication between managers and teams; lack of respect for working hours, directly impacting the difficulty of separating work from private life; resistance from managers, older civil servants, and those who do not engage in telework; the complete transfer of telework-related costs to workers; and the requirement for higher productivity compared to on-site workers.
