Intensive Care Units (ICUs) are defined as hospital areas specialized in the care of patients who are critically ill or at risk of severe illness, requiring constant monitoring, advanced life support, and qualified multidisciplinary care. The objective of this article is to analyze the practical application of the protocol for the safe identification of patients with neonatal sepsis in intensive care units. This is an integrative literature review based on studies selected from scientific databases such as SciELO, PubMed, BVS, and Google Scholar. The findings indicate the need for further research on the topic proposed in this article, in order to deepen the understanding of neonatal sepsis and the role of the multidisciplinary team in this field.
