This article aimed to broaden the discussion, based on the literature reviewed, on the contributions of women to the management and safeguarding of local biodiversity through the management of Brazilian agroecosystems. To this end, a narrative review was conducted based on articles published between 2020 and 2024, indexed in the Scopus, Google Scholar, and SciELO platforms. The studies found were compiled, combined with the search results, and organized after removing duplicates. The initial selection considered titles and abstracts that showed a direct relationship with the keywords used, and the eligible full texts were analyzed in depth. The searches used the keywords "women," "biodiversity," "agroecology," and "productivity." It is concluded that integrating gender, diversity, and agroecology in future research may broaden the understanding of the social, economic, and cultural markers that shape the production and experiences of rural women, as well as highlight how their practices strengthen, transform, and disseminate agroecology as a political, epistemological, and productive project.
