This study has as its research object the role of Physical Education in the Military Police of Amazonas (PMAM). The objective is to analyze in an integrated manner how physical conditioning acts in promoting occupational health and optimizing tactical-operational performance. The methodology consisted of qualitative, descriptive, and exploratory research, structured by an integrative literature review and documentary analysis. The results show that the physiological decline throughout the career, aggravated by work shifts and sleep deprivation, results in high rates of injuries and mental illness among the troops, such as suicide. It was also found that sports practice improves visual perception and reaction time, ensuring the correct application of the use of force and legal protection under the exclusionary grounds for unlawfulness. In the final considerations, it is concluded that the institutionalization of Military Physical Training as a continuous training policy is indispensable, acting as a protective shield for the preservation of life and the guarantee of legality in police action.
