This study addresses the role of the teacher as a facilitator in distance education, with an emphasis on e-learning environments. The research is bibliographic in nature, based on the analysis of articles, dissertations, and other scientific productions. It was observed that teachers face the challenge of integrating digital technologies and innovative methodologies into their daily pedagogical routine, promoting practices that encourage student autonomy and protagonism. The work highlights that the educator's role goes beyond the transmission of content, encompassing guidance, mediation, and continuous support for learning. Constant professional development and the implementation of creative strategies are determining factors for the success of the educational process in the virtual context. The results of the bibliographic analysis indicate that the role of the mediating teacher is multifaceted and involves pedagogical, technological, and socio-emotional competencies. Among the main functions identified are the creation of interactive activities, individualized student monitoring, the promotion of spaces for discussion and collaboration, and the provision of continuous feedback that guides academic progress.Downloads
