Abstract

This article aims to theoretically discuss the historical determinants of child labor. This discussion encompasses the debate on dependency, labor super-exploitation, regional issues, and the legal framework within the capitalist system. Methodologically, this debate is developed through a broad bibliographic review, essentially constituting a qualitative study. This article concludes that while there has been legal progress in addressing child labor, it is limited by the structural nature of the problem, which hinders its eradication in a society governed by the logic of accumulation.
