This article analyzes the territorial dominance exercised by criminal organizations in peripheral communities of Manaus and its sociological implications. The object of research focuses on "parallel sovereignty" and local economic exploitation from the perspective of spatial occupation. The methodology employed a deductive method, with a qualitative approach and indirect documentation techniques, including a literature review on public security in the Amazon. The results indicate that territorial control replaces state presence with codes of conduct imposed by criminality, violating the ecological and social existential minimum. It is concluded that such a phenomenon profoundly alters sociability relations and the local community economy, requiring the need for a restructuring of public security policies in the Amazon.
