Inventory management and logistics are broadly related to organizational processes and sectors, as they directly influence productivity and the quality of products and services. Thus, they play a fundamental role in the success of organizations dealing with high merchandise turnover and product portfolio diversification, such as the cosmetics sector. The objective of this study is to analyze the influence of inventory management and control in a cosmetics distribution company. To achieve the objectives, the study focused on inventory management and control methods and ABC classification of materials. This study adopted a qualitative and quantitative approach, of a descriptive nature, using document analysis to access inventory records. The research form constitutes a case study, with data collection based on existing company documents and recorded observations. The results indicate that, despite having specific inventory management software, the company still uses manual control, which hinders the speed of material outflow. ABC analysis was a method already used by the company, which facilitates knowledge of inventory by managers and employees; however, it was not used for decision-making purposes.
