This project proposes to investigate the challenges and achievements of female military police officers in the Military Police of Amazonas (PMAM), highlighting the tensions between professional identity and gender identity in an institution historically marked by masculinity and rigid hierarchy. The research seeks to understand how these women construct their career paths and assert themselves as agents of transformation within the corporation, engaging with studies that emphasize the role of institutions in the reproduction of social inequalities (AGUIAR et al., 2020) and in guaranteeing access to fundamental rights (PERES; MOURA; AGUIAR, 2020). By articulating perspectives from gender studies, sociology, and law, the work contributes to the debate on public security, citizenship, and inclusion, highlighting the importance of female representation in the PMAM.
