This article sought to analyze the perceptions of students enrolled in the Integrated High School in Informatics (EMI) at the Instituto Federal de Brasília (IFB), Campus Brasília, regarding the phenomenon of bullying and its legal implications in the school context. This is a qualitative, applied research study developed through questionnaires administered to students regularly enrolled in the program and through interviews. The data were examined considering categories related to forms of bullying manifestation, its impacts on academic performance and emotional well-being, as well as students’ knowledge of the current legislation. The results indicate that bullying is perceived as a recurrent practice capable of compromising the learning process, mental health, and school coexistence, often associated with “jokes.” Partial lack of knowledge about the legal implications of such conduct was also identified. It is concluded that the construction of safe school environments is essential, highlighting the need for educational and institutional actions aimed at preventing and addressing this practice.
