Abstract

The present study aimed to discuss how the interaction among students, instructors (or tutors), and the structure of Distance Education courses can be optimized to promote a more effective and satisfactory educational experience. To this end, a qualitative bibliographic research methodology was adopted. The results showed that the effectiveness of Distance Education platforms, the adequate training of instructors and tutors, and the quality of interactions among students are critical factors for the success of distance learning. It was observed that platforms with high usability and accessibility, combined with interactive tools, are essential to keep students engaged and motivated throughout their learning journey. In addition, the continuous training of instructors and tutors, focusing on pedagogical techniques adapted to the virtual environment, is vital to the effectiveness of the educational process. Finally, students’ positive perceptions of course quality are closely linked to the presence of effective support and opportunities for rich and collaborative interaction with peers and tutors. Thus, it is concluded that optimizing interaction among the elements involved in Distance Education is fundamental to enhancing the educational experience and ensuring student satisfaction and success.
