Vocational education has experienced significant growth in the last decade, focusing on the development of technical skills and abilities that meet the demands of the job market. This type of education aims to qualify students to practice technical-level professions, with special attention to training the most vulnerable population. However, completing a technical course does not guarantee immediate insertion into the job market, due to the constant transformations in the world of work. This study seeks to identify the perception of graduates of the technical course in Occupational Safety at EETEPA/ITAITUBA regarding the effectiveness of vocational education and their insertion into the job market, considering the contemporary context. The study has the specific objectives of characterizing the sociodemographic profile of graduates, assessing their perception of vocational education and employability, and analyzing the reports of these graduates regarding the preparation offered by the course. The research was conducted with graduates of the technical course in Occupational Safety at EETEPA/ITAITUBA, considering personal, academic, and social aspects. The results indicate a discrepancy between the need for qualified professionals in the region and the reality of the job market, as evidenced by the high dropout rate and the rapid insertion of graduates into the job market. The research contributes to critical reflection on the effectiveness of vocational education, providing data that can support future research and contribute to the improvement of technical training offered, with a focus on greater insertion of graduates into the job marke.
