This paper analyzes the strategic performance of the 2nd Shock Police Battalion, the Cândido Mariano Ostensive Patrols (ROCAM), in crime suppression in the city of Manaus. As an elite unit of the Amazonas Military Police (PMAM), ROCAM stands out for its mobile tactical policing and its capacity for intervention in highly complex scenarios where conventional policing has limitations. The study addresses how specialized training doctrine and mobility in high-risk areas are fundamental in combating organized crime, drug trafficking, and the seizure of firearms. In addition to its ostensive function, the unit's role as a deterrent force and rapid response in public security crises and civil disturbances is discussed. The methodology is based on bibliographic and documentary analysis of crime rates and the unit's operational guidelines. It is concluded that ROCAM plays an essential role in maintaining public order in Manaus, establishing itself as an indispensable instrument of qualified force for preserving security in the metropolitan region in the face of the challenges of contemporary urban crime.
