This article explores the role of digital platforms in the development of reading fluency and literacy, with an emphasis on the early years of elementary school. The theoretical framework highlights fluency as an essential competence for comprehension and citizenship, while the analysis of tools such as Elefante Letrado, Ler e Escrever, Árvore de Livros, and Kindle Kids reveals methodologies that combine interactivity and personalization. The methodology, based on pedagogical criteria and diverse sources, supports a discussion that compares these platforms, identifying benefits such as engagement and challenges such as attention fragmentation. The historical overview traces the evolution of educational technologies from PLATO to current platforms, highlighting their transformation of learning into an active process. The challenges in implementation point to barriers to access and the need for teacher training, while the future projects trends such as artificial intelligence and immersive realities to improve fluency. It is concluded that digital platforms offer transformative potential for education, conditioned by critical mediation, equity, and empowerment, aiming for literacy that produces proficient and conscious readers.
