This article aimed to analyze the role of the educational manager in the face of the challenges of digital transformation in the context of technology-mediated teaching, with an emphasis on the use of virtual learning environments and the use of data and metrics for pedagogical monitoring. The research is based on a qualitative approach, through a bibliographic review, based on the analysis of recent scientific productions that discuss school management, digital education, learning assessment, and the use of Digital Information and Communication Technologies in the context of basic education. The results show that the school manager's role is crucial for the effective integration of technologies into the pedagogical project, highlighting the importance of strategic planning, continuing teacher training, and systematic monitoring of learning based on educational data. It was observed that school management, when guided by formative assessment practices and the ethical use of performance indicators, contributes to the promotion of a more inclusive, equitable education aligned with contemporary demands. It is concluded that the educational manager assumes a central role as a pedagogical leader in e-learning environments, being responsible for articulating innovation, evaluation, and evidence-based decision-making, aiming to improve the quality of the teaching-learning process.
