This article sought to study the technological evolution brought about by the digital age and the need to guarantee transparency and control for data subjects over the use of their personal data, which highlighted the need to align Brazil with global standards of privacy and information security. With the general objective of analyzing the application of the General Data Protection Law in Brazil, identifying challenges faced by companies and institutions in adapting to the requirements of the new legislation, and the specific objectives of identifying the main difficulties faced by organizations, understanding the ethical and legal implications of data protection in contemporary society, and examining the actions and measures adopted to ensure compliance. The methodology adopted was a qualitative approach, of a descriptive and explanatory nature. Therefore, it is observed that the methods for an effective implementation of the LGPD (Brazilian General Data Protection Law), including strengthening citizens' trust in the digital environment, involve stimulating businesses through compliance with international standards, reducing risks related to leaks, misuse and unauthorized commercialization of personal information, and investments in training, technological innovation, complementary regulations, and firm action by the ANPD (National Data Protection Authority) in oversight and guidance.
