The Innovation Management Systems (IMS) have been widely discussed both in academic literature and in the business environment, given the relevance of continuous innovation for organizational competitiveness. In parallel, there is an accelerated growth in the debate on Digital Transformation (DT), a phenomenon that manifests itself in different areas, such as management, information technology, and Industry 4.0. This plurality of approaches enriches perspectives but also makes the topic more complex and fragmented. Although both fields have a direct relationship with the innovative dynamics of companies, the dialogue between them is still incipient, resulting in studies that evolve in isolation. Thus, the present article aims to identify the interconnections between IMS and DT, analyzing how the elements of each approach can complement each other. The research was developed through a specific literature review for each field, with the selection of representative models of their essential components. Based on the analysis and discussion, an integrating model is proposed that expresses the possible connections between the two areas. It is concluded that an IMS can guide DT initiatives by structuring processes and methodologies focused on managing high-uncertainty projects. In turn, DT offers a set of technologies and organizational trends that can potentiate the effectiveness of the IMS.
