Bursitis and tendinitis of the shoulder are common musculoskeletal conditions that compromise the mobility and function of the upper limb, directly impacting activities of daily living. This study aimed to evaluate the physiotherapeutic evolution of a 74-year-old patient, diagnosed with bursitis and tendinitis of the left shoulder, treated for six months at the Teaching and Research Clinic in Physiotherapy of Iguaçu University (UNIG). This is a case study in which evaluation methods such as anamnesis, physical examination, joint and muscle strength tests, as well as specific tests for the shoulder, were used. The physiotherapeutic intervention included myofascial release, laser therapy, therapeutic ultrasound, stretching, mobility exercises, and muscle strengthening. The results showed significant improvement in pain, increased range of motion (mainly in flexion and extension), normalization of specific tests, and functional recovery of the affected shoulder. It is concluded that physiotherapy played a fundamental role in the patient's clinical evolution, promoting symptom relief, improved mobility, functionality, and quality of life, reinforcing the importance of targeted therapeutic approaches and continuous monitoring in cases of chronic shoulder dysfunction.
