THE IMPORTANCE OF TEACHER TRAINING IN PROMOTING INCLUSIVE EDUCATION

This article aimed to analyze the importance of teacher training in promoting truly inclusive education, reflecting on the teacher’s role as an agent of social transformation. The study sought to understand how initial and continuing training contribute to the development of pedagogical practices capable of embracing diversity and ensuring learning for all students. The methodology adopted was qualitative and bibliographic, based on recent studies addressing the relationship between training and inclusion. The results show that teacher training is essential for building more human and democratic educational practices, as it enables teachers to understand differences as a natural part of the teaching-learning process. It is concluded that investing in teacher training means investing in the consolidation of a fairer, more welcoming school committed to the principles of equity and citizenship.
