This study, entitled "The increasing incidence of post-pandemic anxiety disorder and the importance of nursing care in treating patients with this disorder," highlights one of the main mental health conditions of our time. This condition requires qualified, empathetic, and continuous nursing care, capable of adequately welcoming and intervening in the face of patients' psychosocial demands. The research starts from the following problem: how can nurses effectively contribute to the care of patients with anxiety disorders (AD) in the face of the significant increase in these cases? Its general objective is to analyze the importance of nursing care for patients with AD considering the growing number of cases observed in the post-pandemic population. Furthermore, its specific objectives are: to identify the factors that contributed to the increase in cases of anxiety in the post-pandemic period; to identify the main challenges faced by nurses in assisting patients with anxiety disorders; and to reflect on the emotional preparedness of nursing professionals in the face of mental health demands. This study adopts a qualitative methodology, analyzing scientific literature published between 2020 and 2024. Its justification lies in the urgent need to strengthen mental health care within nursing services, considering the strategic position of nursing in the health system. Its relevance stems from the fact that the research may contribute to expanding scientific and practical knowledge in the area, as well as fostering the training of more prepared professionals. The expected results include broadening the understanding of nursing practice in the face of anxiety disorders and providing support for more humanized, efficient care aligned with mental health guidelines.
