Nursing migration is a phenomenon that leads to a shortage of Brazilian nurses and affects the quality and efficiency of health services, as well as the training and satisfaction of users and professionals in the field. This study aims to propose a reflection on the migration of nurses as a trend in the Brazilian labor market and its implications for public health. Therefore, an integrative review of scientific journals was conducted—published in the last 10 years (from 2015 to 2025)—that addressed the topic from different theoretical and methodological perspectives. The results indicated that the migration of these professionals is related to factors such as lack of social recognition, workload, stress, low pay, dissatisfaction, restricted support and guidance, lack of permanent education, and low remuneration in the labor market. It is precisely in light of this scenario that some strategic proposals for the retention of these nurses in Brazil are put forward.
