Abstract

This paper explores project management in the Information Technology (IT) sector through a critical and integrative analysis of the main methodologies and frameworks applied to the field, such as PMBOK, agile methodologies, ITIL, and COBIT, as well as the relevance of ISO standards. The research, qualitative in nature and based on a bibliographic review, examines the benefits of integrating traditional and agile approaches, discusses the complementarity of governance frameworks, and highlights the importance of compliance with international standards. The study indicates a growing trend towards the adoption of hybrid models and the impact of digital transformation on the project management landscape, highlighting future challenges and opportunities for the practice.
