Abstract

This article investigates how workers' lack of legal knowledge contributes to the perpetuation of labor exploitation in Brazil. The research analyzes the social and legal implications of ignorance regarding fundamental labor rights, encompassing law, sociology, and popular education. Based on classical and contemporary doctrines, as well as constitutional and infra-constitutional norms, the study discusses the ineffectiveness of labor law in the face of a lack of access to information and legal education. Finally, it proposes measures to expand legal knowledge and strengthen labor citizenship.
