Avian Influenza is a highly contagious viral disease that affects domestic and wild birds, posing a significant risk to poultry farming and the global economy. The present study aims to conduct a bibliographic review on the impacts of Avian Influenza in Rondônia, analyzing its possible economic, sanitary, and environmental consequences. Data were obtained from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA) and the Agricultural and Livestock Health Defense Agency of Rondônia (IDARON), in addition to updated scientific and technical records. Recent cases of the disease in 2025, reported in the states of Rio Grande do Sul and Mato Grosso, demonstrated the importance of biosecurity measures on poultry farms, such as entry control, disinfection, and proper waste management. In Rondônia, there are more than 250 registered poultry establishments (IDARON 2024), with the following companies standing out: Globoaves, in the municipality of Espigão do Oeste; Serra Dourada and Piarara, located in the municipality of Cacoal, responsible for a large part of meat and egg production. The introduction of the virus would cause economic losses estimated in millions of reais, affecting both producers and integrators. It is concluded that prevention, through sanitary education and the strengthening of biosecurity barriers, is essential to ensure the sustainability of poultry farming in Rondônia and to preserve the sanitary status of the state.
